Character search settings

Each character can repeat. Duplicates are counted once; spaces are kept.

Know the beginning or end?

Only the unknown middle is searched. For “summer12!”, use prefix “summer”, suffix “!”, and unknown length 2.

Shorter ranges and known parts help. Strong passwords can take impractically long to recover.

Each run pauses after 2 minutes. You can resume while this page stays open.

What this tool can recover

Supports single-volume ZIPs using ZipCrypto or WinZip AES with stored or Deflate content. Up to 100 entries and 100 MB declared uncompressed content; the file used for verification must be up to 8 MB. RAR, 7z, encrypted filenames and other encryption or compression methods are not supported.

Recovery tries only your chosen candidates. There is no guaranteed recovery time or success. Character search supports printable English characters; use a password list for Unicode candidates. Nothing is uploaded, extracted to disk, logged or saved. Use it for archives you own or have permission to access.
